Trusting God with Everything

Trusting God with Everything

Trust is vital to any relationship. If we don’t know and trust a person then we are unlikely to rely on them and make ourselves vulnerable in the relationship. This is no less true in a relationship with God. Understanding who God is, his character, his power and his reliability, fosters trust and should make us more willing to rely on him, to step out in faith.

Of course, it is one thing to say that we trust God, but what does that look like in practice? Are there areas of our lives that we hold back from God and say ‘I trust you, but not with that’? Our current teaching series is called ‘Trusting God with everything’ and unpacks the teaching of Jesus in Luke 12 which is all about trusting God. As we look at this part of the bible I hope we are all challenged about whether we are trusting God with our fears, with our finances, with our worries, with how we use our time and energy, and with our conflicts. These are all areas where we might be tempted to hold back from God and trust ourselves rather than him. I’m praying that God would be deepening our trust and dependence in all these areas of life.

Being a Christian means putting Jesus in charge of all aspects of our lives. It means trusting him entirely bringing all the areas of life under his good and loving rule. Where are the areas that you need to grow in trust? Are you willing to trust God with everything?
