You can prepare for this meeting by reading the Annual reports, here, the Financial Report here, and the 2018-19 Budget here.

The nominees for elected positions are:

Michael Dorman            (St John’s 9:30am)

I have attended St John’s Diamond Creek for over 30 years. With my wife Breanna and two children I currently attend the 9:30am service. Over the years I have served in various capacities including youth group leader, life group leader, field committee member, worship service leader, and member of Vestry / Parish Council.

I completed a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) and work as National Manager of Enrolments, Fees and Scholarships for Australian Catholic University. This role involves the enrolment and fee management for approximately 35,000 students.

I have served as Warden for the past two years and am passionate about the growth and development of the Parish.

Anna Greenhalgh          (Sunday@6)

I have attended St John’s since I was a young adult, primarily the S@6 service, where I was confirmed in 2016. My husband Leigh and I were married at St John’s in 2007 and have been blessed to welcome three children into our family.

I manage the accounts and payroll for our family’s small business and also coordinate the running of the Breakaway Youth Annual Fundraising Auction. In my paid work, I am a Business Analyst working for Our Community, where not-for-profits go for help.

Around St John’s, I currently lead a young adults’ Life Group, I was a Mainly Music up-front leader for eight years, and I have also been a worship leader at Sunday@6. I have been Treasurer for the past two years and look forward to becoming more involved in the running of the church next year, as Warden.

Rob Shackleton             (St John’s 9:30am)

Born 1948. Current age 70. A Christian for 60 years. Studied Economics, Politics and Philosophy at LaTrobe University in the 1970s. Completed a Grad. Dip, Human Services Research and Evaluation at RMIT University in 1993. Worked in Public Hospital Administration for over 20 years in the fields of Human Resources/Payroll, Medical Equipment Purchasing, Pathology Admin, Supply and Inventory Management, Internal Management Consulting and Audit, Building Construction and Maintenance, Financial Projects, Special Projects for Director of Nursing and Director of Medical Services/Hospital CEO. Now ‘retired’. Formerly a Warden at St Paul’s Yarra Glen before coming to St John’s in approximately 1997. Currently serving a third term as a Synod representative. Served on the Field Committee for Andrew Bowles.

I’m a strong believer in consensus-based decision making, seeking God’s guidance through the Holy Spirit.

I’ve now had the honour and privilege to serve as Property Warden for 3 years. It’s been very rewarding, and I want to offer myself for a further 12 months – there’s a lot more to do!

Andrew Jetten              (Sunday@6)

I have very much enjoyed the last year on Parish Council and I am excited to continue serving. I have been attending St John’s for approximately 20 years. I believe I can bring lots of new ideas to assist the growth of St John’s, in line with our new Vision. I also look forward to representing the young adults of St John’s in a greater capacity.

Carol Jenkinson            (St Michael’s)

I am nominating for Parish Council, serving the Parish of Diamond Creek in this capacity.

I currently worship at St Michael’s Yarrambat and am involved in all areas of this congregation from cleaning to Worship Leading. I have also been involved in lots of activities at St John’s Diamond Creek, mainly in relation to children’s activities – playgroup, mainly music and Going Bananas. I have previously sat on Parish Council and believe I made a contribution to the Parish during my time in this role.

I am a committed Christian who walks daily with Christ, who gets me up each morning, through each day and gives me rest at night.  He directs my movements and commitments and guides me in all I do.

Joanne Hemsworth       (St John’s 9.30am)

Joanne Hemsworth, wife to Tim and mother to Ashlyn, Zachary and Mitchell. Part-time scientist and full-time parent!

I have grown up in the church and will be forever grateful for the strength and love of God and the friendships and support I have in His church.

Alan Fairweather          (St John’s 9:30am)

My family has worshipped at St John’s for many years and I have served the congregation in various roles throughout this time. As a full-time primary school Principal, there are many leadership and administration skills, which I use on a day to day basis, that are transferable into the role of an Incumbency Committee member, such as interviewing and selecting staff.

I offer myself to serve in this leadership role and assist, where possible, as God continues to unveil His plan for the spiritual development of those who worship here and for outreach to the wider community.

Katherine Shields          (Sunday@6pm)

I have been a part of our Sunday at 6 service for many years. During that time I have worked in the youth ministry, been a member of our core team and one of our life group coaches.  I have also been a member of our young adults Alice Springs mission team, a member of our mission committee and a prayer ministry team member.

I currently work for Interserve, an international mission agency working in Asia and the Arab world. I am passionate about engaging young adults in what God is doing globally.  I am also studying a Masters at Ridley alongside my work.

Andrew Cording            (St Michael’s)

I have been a long-term member of St Michael’s having grown up there. I have served as Treasurer for St Michael’s and on Vestry for many years. I’m actively involved in services, regularly leading prayers and bible reading.

Bev Ward                      (St Katherine’s)

I have worshipped and been an active member of the parish for over 50 years. I believe I have the confidence, skills and ability, with prayer and God’s blessing, to be equipped to work with the other members of the Incumbency Committee to select the next Vicar of our Parish.
